Scottsdale, Arizona is home to some of the best golf courses in the world, and Tom Weiskopf has designed two beauties at Troon North Golf Resort. The Pinnacle and Monument golf courses combine for a great 36-hole facility that can hardly be matched in quality, playability, and customer satisfaction by any golf course in the area.
The Pinnacle golf course, opened in 1996, was the second golf course on the property. This golf course was solely designed by Tom Weiskopf and has consistently been ranked as the number two best daily fee golf course in the state of Arizona. This golf course can play from 4883 to 7025 yards depending on the tees you play.
Pinnacle is more of a links-style golf course that is surrounded by the typical landscape found in the Sonoran desert. There are lots of forced carries and only two holes on the golf course that feature water as a hazard. The fairways on this golf course tend to be like the greens, undulating and fast. Be sure to consider bounce when you are playing this golf course.
The Pinnacle golf course is always in good shape and this can be explained by the average of 335 days of sun the state gets every year. With so much sun you would think they would be able to grow grass everywhere in Scottsdale. While you're on the property you will want to check out the recently opened Callaway Golf Performance Center. Here you will be able to take advantage of the state of the art technology that Callaway Golf has for fitting clubs and improving your game. This facility opened in March 2008 and has already seen huge crowds.
Fall is a great time visit the Scottsdale area as the temperatures are cooler and the golf courses are in great shape. While you're visiting, you might want to check out one of the Arizona Cardinals games that are played from September to December in the new University of Phoenix Stadium.
