SunRidge Canyon Golf Club

Sunridge Canyon Golf Club, like many others in Arizona, is sculpted out of the Sonoran Desert and surrounded by lush desert landscape. But what makes this golf course so alluring and really sets it apart is the great combination of short and long holes. Course designer Keith Foster has given you several great opportunities to shoot a low number.Sunridge Canyon is located just a short drive from Phoenix in Fountain Hills, Arizona.

There are risks but the rewards can be great if you pull them off. The first and tenth holes are both very drivable par-4's for the longer hitters but they are surrounded by desert and you will need to think twice about going for these greens. Sometimes it is hard to swing an iron off the first tee when the green is so close to you.

Many of the par-5's are short as well and can easily be reached in two shots. The greens on these holes are very large and undulating. Sunridge Canyon Golf Club was designed so that you would have the option of running the ball onto the greenon the longer holes . There are very few holes that require you to fly a bunker in order to reach the green, rather they have been positioned to the back and sides of the green.

Sunridge Canyon is not an overly long golf course, measuring only slightly over 6,700 yards, but accuracy is more important than distance. Caution is an important word here if you want to shoot a low score.

The back nine at Sunridge Canyon has more forced carries than the front nine and the last four holes are a great test of golf. Three out of the four par-3's measure over 200 yards including the 209-yard 17th hole. This hole features a large green and multiple tee boxes that can dramatically change the distance of this hole. From one tee you might have to fly the ball over a canyon, while others play less than 150 yards.

Sunridge Canyon is a great golf course for any skill level of golfer. It is fair but can play tough from the back tees. If you are ever looking for some incredible Arizona golf, this is a great golf course to play.
