Articles introducing new golf courses have been few and far between these days as the number of new golf courses opening is about equal to the new airlines being started. One I would like to introduce to you is Vista Verde Golf Club, located in north Scottsdale, just north of the Fountain Hills area. Vista Verde Golf Club is the new addition to Tonto Verde and Rio Verde Golf Clubs, the 5th in this great community. Designed by Ken Kanvanaugh, Vista Verde Golf Club has been voted in the top 12 courses you can play in Arizona by Golf Magazine.
One of the true pleasures of playing a new course, especially one that is designed to be the focal point of a community development is that in its infancy, there's just golf course and in this case desert (no homes, no distractions, etc.). The 90-plus acres of turf provide generous landing areas off the tee to help accommodate most avid golfers. "The teeth of this course, Director of Golf David Cox explains, "are the iron shots into the greens as they are raised and in many cases similar to typical Pinehurst greens without the crown". Some 50 bunkers define the nature of every round played at Vista Verde. "The fairway bunkers, though abundant, are not severe and are relatively easy to recover from", continues Cox. The Tiff Eagle Greens provide a pure putting surface that will surely reward your great putting!
If you're looking for a new home or lot in North Scottsdale, you may have hit the mother load as there is no better time to buy than now. Vista Verde Golf Club is located just east of Troon North. The only guarantee from the Director of Golf is that you will remember every hole. Put this one on your list!
