Choices for Golf Courses in Arizona and When to Plan Your Golf Vacation

One of the beautiful things about planning a golf vacation to Scottsdale, Arizona is that no matter what golf course or golf courses you choose to play, it's going to be great!

Scottsdale, Arizona is home to some of the most well known golf facilities in the world - Troon North Golf Club, Grayhawk Golf Club and The Boulders to name just a few. There are also some not-so-well-known golf courses that rival any of those named above, including Sunridge Canyon Golf Club, Raven at Verrado, and TPC Champions Course as well as many more. The selection of courses that you pick should be geared to you and your group's skill level, budget, and willingness to take some critiquing of your golf game as there are some that will surely challenge the even best of golfers.

There's nothing like having the sandbagger 14 (really a 9) go out and shoot 89 the first day out. Get him off the home course and it evens the playing field a bit.

There are some things you need to know about Scottsdale, Arizona: 

1. There is an over-abundance of some of the prettiest women you'll ever see (make sure you get out and see the town);
2. There is world-class dining around every corner (but not at world-class prices); and
3. You could not play all the golf courses in a month if your life depended on it (every time I turn around there is another course that has been there for years just tucked away as a local secret).

They key is to get to Arizona for some amazing golf and take a look for yourself!

When is the best time for an Arizona golf vacation, you ask?

Any time you can get your golf group away from the locker room poker table will work! Arizona Summer golf rates are extremely easy on the wallet, but my recommendation for the best time is mid-October to right before Christmas, as this is well out of overseed and still not the high season - so green fees are affordable and weather conditions are perfect for golf. It's a fact that golf in Arizona, anytime in the winter or spring are perfect and you can expect the golf courses to be immaculate!
