Eagle Mountain A Must Play in Arizona

OK, The Great may be a stretch as in "Alexander", but Eagle Mountain Golf Club is a must play when in Scottsdale, Phoenix, or more specifically Fountain Hills, AZ.

This dramatic Scott Miller design, captures the desert golf experience as well as I've seen. Excellent playing conditions year round, a beautiful clubhouse, and stunning views put this course at the top of any list in Southern Arizona. As a matter of fact, GolfWorld Readers rated it in the "Top 50 public courses in the country"; might I add, well deserving. Eagle Mountain Golf Club has quietly assumed it position of "Must Play" by steadily offering one of the best desert golf experiences known to mankind. If you've yet to play it, put it on your list. If you've already played it, I know it continues to be on your list (unless of course your wallet was thinned out by one of your golf buddies there).

A few tips about playing at Eagle Mountain Golf Club:

  1. Use the putting green to warm up. This greens won't kill you, but you want to have a good feel for them.
  2. Use the yardage book. There is reachable trouble from the tee, so know when to scale back and keep the Driver in the bag.
  3. Account for the elevation changes, especially when hitting your irons uphill.
  4. Enjoy: 99% of golf is about attitude. Eagle Mountain Golf Club is one of the true treasures of desert golf.

Remember, Play and play often! You only live once.
